About Us
“The self cannot be found in books. You have to find yourself in yourself.”
— Sri Ramana Maharshi
Many women face unique challenges that can often be overlooked in traditional counselling settings, from societal expectations and significant life transitions, to balancing multiple roles and expectations. Qualia Life was born from a desire to help women connect with their true potential, in a space free from judgment and external pressures, where the masks we often wear to meet expectations of others can be removed.
Qualia refers to the unique, individual experiences we each have—those deeply personal moments that shape our perception of the world. When we become aware of our inner experiences, we start to understand ourselves better. This helps us cultivate compassion for ourselves, understanding of others and to make choices that align with what truly matters to us.
At Qualia Life, we honour these experiences by creating a safe, supportive space where women can be seen and heard as they navigate their own journeys of growth and self-discovery.
Through evidence-based counselling and coaching, Qualia Life offers an authentic, judgement-free space where you can explore your experiences, express your emotions, and embrace the growth you’re ready to step into.
You are welcome at Qualia Life, just as you are.
About Qualia Life
Hi, I’m Gemma. I’m a mother, wife, daughter, friend and qualified counsellor and coach. I’m passionate about supporting women in discovering and embracing their true potential.
In mid-2022, in the middle of a dark Melbourne winter, I took a week off work. Burnt out and with nothing left to give myself, my family or my work, I decided that the next 20-years of my life would not look like the past 20-years. Working towards someone else’s version of success had taken its toll. I was ready to listen to what I had been ignoring for many years - my intuition and my heart.
Over the past few years, I’ve studied for my Masters in Counselling while also navigating my own personal growth journey—one that’s included embracing motherhood and redefining who I am and what I truly want from life. As my journey continues, I’m grateful that I can offer a safe space for other women, wherever they may be on their own path.
My approach is warm, authentic and person-centred, offering a space where women can unload, reconnect with themselves and navigate challenges with confidence and care. I embrace evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, somatic practices, and parts work, to support women in cultivating self-awareness, growth, and embracing their full potential.
